L'Hacienda des étoiles

The Hacienda des étoiles is located in the Andes Mountains, in the Rio Hurtado Valley, protected from any light pollution, at an altitude of 1,500m – it is here that the sky is visually at its most beautiful, since at higher altitudes the reduced oxygen lessens visual acuity – with clear skies nearly 320 days per year and exceptional atmospheric stability.

 

The Hacienda des étoiles offers :

• Accommodation for a stay, dedicated or not to astronomy, with full board under an exceptionally clear sky,

with schedules and tourist activities adapted to the practice of astronomy

3 fully equipped chalets that can accommodate individuals or families of up to 8 people

• Evenings of discovery of the magnificent southern sky with a guide,

ranging from simple introduction nights to training in the use of the onsite equipment

​​

• High-end astronomical observation equipment available during your stay,

refractors and telescopes (500mm Dobsonian, C14, 150mm refractor) – for both visual observation and astrophotography,

as well as dedicated spaces for those who bring their own equipment

​​

• An observatory hosting automated telescopes: The Southern Deep Sky Observatory,

with 4 domes able to accommodate telescopes up to 1 meter in diameter under robotic observatories

​​

• Two-week astronomy stays organized by the Astro Evasion association,

to discover the southern sky and practice astrophotography with your own equipment or that of the Hacienda des étoiles
A special package is offered for the entire 14-day stay, including equipment and guidance (max. 7 participants)
